Three little gestures from New Zealand’s National Treasure Bill Direen in the form of The Bilders. The band has existed since the 80’s and has at times included such luminaries as Hamish Kilgour and Chris Knox. On this record the group is a multinational force with each track featuring a different line- up save for the constant Direen. As to the record at hand - the A side offers a situationist expose of the current worldwide tomfoolery while the AA side soothes with an appealing ballad and a live extract from a recent European outing. Influences? If we must - Cale, Can, and Lydon. Picked out of a hat but appropriate all the same
